William C. Hurt, Jr.

Hurt, Crosbie & May PLLC
The Equus Building

Lexington, KY 40507

"Success in a lawsuit can be measured in many ways. As an attorney, I measure my success by my client's satisfaction that they were represented with skill, effort and heart."

William C. Hurt, Jr. received his B.A. degree with high distinction from the University of Kentucky.  He received his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Kentucky, College of Law where he was inducted in the Order of the Coif and served as Associate Editor of the Kentucky Law Journal.

After completing his legal studies, Bill worked as an associate at a large regional law firm concentrating his practice on litigation.  Soon thereafter, Bill formed Wethington, Hurt & Crosbie (presently Hurt, Crosbie & May) which has grown into a state-wide law firm with offices in both Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky and serving all surrounding communities.

Bill has written numerous articles and chapters in various legal journals and periodicals.  He is a well-known and recognized lecturer to attorneys in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky on legal topics of interest.

Shortly after law firm was founded, Bill led our litigation team in securing a $8.1 million judgment in a complex legal case.  He is well-versed on many aspects of the law and enjoys a reputation of obtaining results under difficult circumstances.

Between undergraduate and law school, Bill owned an award-winning residential construction company that built many of the houses in Lexington.  He firmly understands that one of the most critical aspects to constructing a solid house is that it is given a strong foundation.  That is why Bill approaches each case by first fully understanding the facts and circumstances that caused his client's injuries.  From there, he works with other members of the law firm to build a winning case.

Bill is a member of the Fayette County Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  He also holds membership in the American Justice Association and is a graduate of the prestigious National Institute for Trial Advocacy ("NITA") Master Advocate Program.  He is licensed to practice law by the Kentucky Supreme Court, U.S. District Court-Eastern District of Kentucky, U.S. District Court-Western District of Kentucky and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

As a graduate of Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky, Bill still has strong local roots in Lexington and continues to maintain involvement in various community activities.  He and his wife, Susan, have two children, Will and Katie.  When not in the court room, Bill enjoys attending Lexington Catholic baseball games to watch his son, Will, and supporting his daughter, Katie, at her soccer games at Masterston Station Park.
