CPSC Recalls Sony VAIO Laptops | Lexington Product Liability Attorney

Sony VAIO laptop computers have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for posing the risk of burn injuries, according to the UPI news source.  The CPSC said that the computers may overheat, creating the burn hazard.  The total number of VAIO notebook computers made is believed to be around 233,000, and the laptops were sold throughout the U.S. for $800-$1500 between January and April of 2010.  Specifically, the computers recalled are of the VPCF11 andVPCCW2 Series, and consumers of the laptops have been advised to contact a Sony retail outlet, call 866-496-7669 for information, or visit http://esupport.sony.com/US/f1cw2update for instructions.

In some instances in which products result in serious injury, a product liability (or defective product) claim may be possible.  Although product liability claims often result from injuries to children, anyone seriously injured by a defective product may file a legal claim, as long as another party is legally and directly responsible for the person's injuries.  Responsible parties may be manufacturers, retailers, or other companies or parties involved in the making or sale of the defective items.  For more information on central Kentucky or Lexington personal injury claims or for free answers to questions concerning your specific situation, contact attorney Scott Crosbie online or at 866-239-0039.
