Lexington Work-Related Accidents & Wrongful Death: One Example

A New York widow is filing a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Queens in connection with her husband's work-related accident, according to the Daily News.  In the fatal accident, Jackie Knell's husband and track worker was electrocuted when he slipped and fell on a third rail on April 26, and Knell and her attorney claim that a number of violations existed at the work site that day.  Among the violations was the lack of signage or lights to warn employees that the third rail was exposed, though the protecting boards had been removed.  Premilinary investigations of the tragic work accident gave rise to numerous safety concerns related to the accident, but further details were not included at the time of the report.
