Why are we using my insurance provider if the accident was not my fault and the other driver has decent insurance coverage?

Even if a Hurt, Crosbie and May client is involved in a car accident that was caused by another person, we can still file a claim for personal injury protection benefits, or PIP.  In Kentucky, this is what is known as "no-fault" insurance, and by law, it requires the insurance company to pay an injured person's medical bill and a percentage of their lost wages up to $10,000 regardless if they are to blame. 

 

As long as you have paid your insurance premium for this particular coverage, you will have no trouble making a claim.  It would not make sense to pay extra for coverage like this if it was not there for you when you need it the most.
