Types of Central Kentucky & Lexington Collisions

As a central Kentucky motor vehicle accident attorney, I have represented numerous people in various types of car accidents, truck accidents, and other collisions. Among the questions injured crash victims ask me is what types of collisions constitute auto accident claims. In reality, many circumstances surrounding each accident affect whether a Lexington accident or central Kentucky wreck may result in an injury claim. Simply put, however, a claim may result from an accident in the case of injury caused by another party's negligence. Among the different types of collisions that my clients have been involved in are the following:

  • head-on collisions: often among the most dangerous types of collisions, these occur when two vehicles crash into each other while facing opposite directions (often occur when a vehicle swerves or drives on the wrong side of the roadway)
  • rear-end collisions: accidents between two or more vehicles in which one vehicle crashes into another from behind
  • t-bone collsions: wrecks in which the front of a vehicle strikes the side of another vehicle
  • sideswipe accidents: crashes in which a vehicle strikes the side of another vehicle with its side
  • backover accidents: crashes in which a vehicle backs over a pedestrian, often a child
  • vehicle-pedestrian accidents: wrecks in which a vehicle strikes a pedestrian
  • motor vehicle-bicycle accidents: wrecks in which a motor vehicle and bicycle collide
  • motorcycle accidents: collisions between motorcycles or between a motorcycle and another vehicle.

This list is not comprehensive; many types of collisions exist, and even some single vehicle accidents result in personal injury claims. As long as there is a cause and effect relationship between a negligent party's actions or failure to act and a resulting injury, filing a Lexington car accident claim may be an option for the injured.
