A man broke his tailbone while on a three-hour zip line tour at a resort, according to the KXLH news source. The tour includes six separate spans of zip line riding with hiking in between each span, and the riders attach themselves to a paragliding style harness that connects to a cable trolley. Although previous tourists have made it through the zip line tour without problems, the man's manner of riding created tension in the line that caused the line to lower, slamming him against a wooden platform. A spokesperson for the Whitefish Mountain Resort, Donnie Clapp, reported that the line is now closed and will not reopen until the problem is eliminated, even though he believes the odds of another accident are unlikely. After the unusual accident, the victim required transportation to a local hospital for treatment, and he remained in the hospital in stable condition with a broken tailbone and other injuries at the time of the report.
Although this accident took place in Montana, many premises liability accidents occur in Lexington, Fayette County, and other parts of central Kentucky. While most cases do not involve injuries from a zip line, many Lexington accidents involve broken bones. Kentucky residents often sustain broken tailbones, back injuries, or hip injuries after serious falls, work-related accidents, car wrecks, and other types of accidents. If you have suffered a broken tailbone or another serious injury in any accident that occurred on residential, commercial, or industrial property, you may have a KY or Lexington premises liability or Fayette County slip and fall case, as long as negligence was a causal factor in the incident. If you were injured at work, Kentucky workers' compensation should cover your medical expenses and time away from the job, even if no one was at-fault or negligent in the accident.
