Woman Extracted from SUV, Taken to Hospital After Lexington Wreck

A Lexington car accident between an SUV and another vehicle sent one woman to the hospital for crash-related injuries, according to the WickedLocal news website. The Lexington car wreck occurred at the intersection of Meriam St. and Patriots Dr. when the SUV and a second vehicle collided, causing the SUV to overturn. After the Fayette County accident, area firefighters and police officers worked to remove the trapped driver of the SUV from her vehicle, cutting through the back hatch and windshield to extricate her. The woman's condition was not known at the time of the report, and the driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the crash. One Meriam Street resident believes that auto accidents are common at that intersection because there is not a stop sign on Patriots Drive in that location.
