With motorcycle ridership being up, it is pushing up the number of traffic deaths.  This is particularly true of supersport motorcycles.  High performance bikes, with many models being able to obtain speeds in excess of 190 mph, is compounding this problem.  At 190 mph, that is as fast as the take-off speed for a 747 airliner jet.  Not only are there high death rates with supersport motorcycles, there are also a key factor in higher insurance rates for all riders.
